Transportation and Logistics Companies Reduce Operating Cost via Electronic Commerce Affinity Program for Discounted Value Added Network Mailbox Services

Mashpee, MA (PRWEB) September 10, 2015:  Value Added Network (VAN) services offered at discounted rates.

Digital Movers, a premier provider of hosted electronic commerce services, announced a cost-cutting Electronic Commerce Affinity Program that allows transportation, carriers and logistics companies to obtain Value Added Network (VAN) services at discounted rates. A Value Added Network or VAN is a hosted store and forward mailbox service that facilitates the secure and auditable sharing of information (such as purchase orders, invoices, shipment status, etc.) electronically between companies to support Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

“Since the arrival of the Internet, people have been predicting the end of the dependency upon Value Added Networks to accommodate EDI. However, years later many companies still rely upon VANs when building intra-company communication networks and supply chain solutions,” said Ken Konikowski, president, Digital Movers. “Digital Movers is one of the largest resellers of public, tier one Value Added Network (VAN) Services. We commit to large volumes of VAN services to obtain the lowest possible rates and then pass along these savings to our customers and alliance partners. We are extremely pleased to offer this cost saving program specifically to transportation and logistics companies that are looking to reduce their operating expenses.”

“Increasingly, transportation companies are being requested by their customers to provide timely, electronic information on shipments, etc.,” said Steve Thompson, Director of IT, TCW, Inc. “The Digital Movers’ Electronic Commerce Affinity Program enabled us to reduce our operating expenses by 40%. Additionally, the migration to the new Value Added Network account was painless and quick.”

Additionally, Digital Movers announced that it is offering its FAX2EDI conversion service to transportation and logistics companies to reduce or eliminate manual data entry for Bills of Lading and Freight Invoices.

Digital Movers provides a complete range of hosted electronic commerce services that enable companies to build and maintain electronic trading communities with their value chain of customers, suppliers, transportation partners and financial institutions. Automotive Supplier Selects Digital Movers’ FAX2EDI Managed EDI Services to Automate Material Release/Forecast Transactions in the Automotive Industry

Automotive manufacturer reduces operating expenses and improves order fulfillment effectiveness with its non-EDI-capable customers.

Mashpee, MA (PRWEB) August 12, 2015

Digital Movers, a premier provider of hosted EDI electronic commerce services, today announced that a leading manufacturer and tier one supplier to the automotive industry is improving order fulfillment speed and accuracy and reducing its operating costs by utilizing Digital Movers’ FAX2EDI Conversion Service to automate and integrate Material Release and Forecast data with its ERP software applications.

“The company received the bulk of their Material Release and Forecast data from their customers via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) which automatically updates an ERP application. However, they still had a substantial quantity of faxed and emailed releases that had to be manually data entered into their software applications. Digital Movers’ FAX2EDI Conversion Service uses Optical Character Recognition and workflow solutions to convert these faxed and emailed documents into electronic transactions that seamlessly integrate with their ERP application,” stated Ken Konikowski, CEO, Digital Movers. “As a result, they are able to improve order accuracy, increase the speed of access to information and improve order turn-around time all while reducing their operating costs. Perhaps the best advantage to the FAX2EDI Conversion Service is that it required no changes in the ordering process of their customers and very little adjustments to their systems because the FAX2EDI Conversion Service uses existing EDI technology for integration. We simply leverage what is already there. The Fax2EDI Conversion Service is also capable of automating sales orders and invoices using the same process.”

Manual Paper Document Processing Via Fax to EDI

Mashpee, MA (PRWEB ) March 31, 2015 - Digital Movers announced today that, together with its technology partners, it has extended its flagship Host*EDI Outsourcing Service by adding a Fax to EDI conversion facility. This new Fax to EDI Service helps customers reduce or eliminate their inbound manual paper documents while leveraging their existing investment in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

"While many of our clients can trade documents electronically (EDI) with their customers and suppliers, they still handle a huge amount of paper documents that must be manually entered in order to expose the resultant data. Our hosted FAX to EDI operation receives paper documents, such as purchase orders, invoices, bills-of-lading, freight invoices, insurance documents, scans the documents and extracts the appropriate data which can then be tuned into electronic (EDI) documents or any type of digital file" said Ken Konikowski, president, Digital Movers. "Digital Movers is proud to offer its cost effective FAX to EDI solution for all North American Trade."

In today's difficult business environment, companies win by managing information more effectively than their competition. Whether its market, customer, sales, or product information, superior access helps you make good decisions and respond quickly. Staying on top of the never-ending flow of new information is critical to success. Even the best companies struggle to manage some types of information well. Paper forms, such as invoices, purchase orders, or delivery notices can challenge any organization due to the high volumes of customer documents to process. Entering the information manually is a costly, slow, and error-prone process. Until the data is successfully and accurately "pulled" from a form, it is unusable for the purpose of making decisions.

Digital Movers' Fax to EDI Service improves data capture accuracy, reduces costs, eliminates peak processing challenges, and achieves real-time data entry. World-class document imaging, digital conversion, and workflow management capabilities provides a complete solution in an outsourced environment.

Incoming Document Capture: Faxed and e-mail documents are captured and routed for automated processing. Advanced inventory control capabilities track incoming documents to ensure no document is lost. Document Processing: Free-form optical character and forms recognition captures most data automatically. Triple-pass processing with intelligent human verification ensures highly efficient and accurate data entry.

Exception Handling: Those few documents that fail validation edits are sent to work queues on a web-based exception server. There, customer service specialists clear exceptions via a customized web interface. Incoming documents are rapidly and efficiently processed by Digital Movers to create a complete data and image record. Digital Movers can upload EDI files directly into ERP systems, faster and more accurately than ever before. Additionally, image files of the actual paper documents are created and can be uploaded to image archive PRWeb eBooks - Another online visibility tool from PRWeb

DM Certified as US CBP ACE E-Manifest Provider

Mashpee, MA (PRWEB) January 6, 2009 - Digital Movers (www.dmovers.com) announced today that the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) (www.cbp.gov) has certified the company as a Hosted EDI E-Manifest Solution provider as part of its Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) for the filing of EDI Electronic Manifests. ACE is the commercial trade processing system being developed by CBP to facilitate legitimate trade and strengthen border security.

Automated Commercial Environment electronic truck manifest capabilities are currently available at all 99 U.S. land border ports of entry. ACE is the new commercial trade processing system developed by CBP to facilitate trade and strengthen national security. E-manifests provide CBP with cargo information, such as crew, conveyance, equipment as applicable, and shipment details, so they can begin processing the truck before it arrives at the gate. Truck carriers are required to submit e-manifests to CBP one hour prior to arrival at a U.S. land border port of entry, or half an hour if the carrier is a participant in the Free and Secure Trade program.
Digital Movers can assist Shippers in filing E-manifests through our CBP-certified Electronic Data Interchange Portal currently capable of sending and receiving EDI X12 and EDIFACT message sets.

Receiving manifest information early allows CBP and other border security agencies to pre-screen the manifest prior to the truck's arrival at the port of entry. Advance access to manifest information enables CBP to pre-screen trucks and shipments, while dedicating more time to inspecting high risk cargo without delaying the border crossings of legitimate carriers.

For the Carrier, there are numerous E-manifest Benefits. On average, e-manifests are processed 33 percent faster than paper manifests. Carriers are able to generate a wide variety of reports to evaluate and identify compliance issues and risks. Truck carriers can record and track account details related to drivers, trucks, (conveyances), equipment, shippers and consignees via ACE. This eliminates the need to repetitively send this data resulting in reduced errors during submission.

"Getting certified by the US Customs and Border Protection's Automated Commercial Environment is the next step for Digital Movers to link our customers via ACE E-manifest (EDI) services to both US and Canadian Customs agencies" said Ken Konikowski, president, Digital Movers. "Digital Movers is proud to offer E-Manifest solutions for all North American Trade." Additionally, ACE is creating rail and sea manifest capabilities in order to set the stage for multi-modal processing that will replace three existing systems and provide a single, automated cargo control and release system across all modes of transportation. ACE truck processing capabilities are currently operational at the nation's 99 land border ports.

Rutgers-Newark Alumni Association Honors Digital Movers Kenneth Konikowski with its 2005 Distinguished Alumni Award

Towaco, NJ (PRWEB) February 4, 2006 -- Rutgers-Newark Alumni Association Honors Digital Movers Kenneth Konikowski with its 2005 Distinguished Alumni Award. For the past 5 years Digital Movers CEO and Rutgers-Newark University College Alumnus Kenneth Konikowski has helped build a brighter future for children around the world by bringing the latest medical technology and expertise to them.

No, Konikowski is not a doctor. Rather he is a volunteer with Medical Missions for Children, a non-profit organization that provides medical assistance to critically ill children around the world. In his role, he helps develop new technology and establish video and teleconference links between health care professionals in the United States and their colleagues in medically underserved nations. The Rutgers-Newark University College Alumni Association recently honored Konikowski for his dedication to Medical Missions and his numerous professional achievements by presenting him with the 2005 University College Distinguished Alumni Award at its annual dinner.

“I was surprised and honored when I learned about the award,” Konikowski explained. “I was always pleased with the education I received at Rutgers and it provided me with a strong learning experience for what I do today.”

Konikowski earned his degree in Marketing from University College in 1976. He has enjoyed a long and successful career which includes numerous leadership positions at several companies. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Movers, an electronic commerce solutions provider. Prior to his position at Digital Movers, Konikowski was Executive Vice-President of EB2B Commerce in New York City. In this position he grew the company from $750,000 to over $3,500,000 in annual sales. Before his position at EB2B, Mr. Konikowski was founder and President of Software Associates, Inc, a company that specialized in EDI and transaction processing systems for supply chain businesses.

Like many of his fellow University College Alumni, Konikowski worked during the day and attended classes at night. In fact, he attended night classes for nearly 10 years before earning his degree.

“It was good for me because working during the day and going to school at night helped keep me focused,” he said. “I took my education seriously. Unfortunately, I see many kids today who do not take education seriously and they are not ready to enter the real world.”

Although he has achieved much professional success, Konikowski is extremely proud of his volunteer work with Medical Missions for Children. Konikowski acts as the Chief Technology Officer and serves on the organization’s board. Through the use of telemedicine technologies, Medical Missions for Children links international doctors and their patients with mentoring hospitals in the United States to participate in the diagnosis and treatment of children. In this role, Konikowski is responsible for designing, building and expanding the Global Telemedicine and Learning Network and for managing local and remote hospitals and equipment and network service providers. He notes that nearly 30 percent of the cases with which Medical Missions assists were originally misdiagnosed.

“We realized that we could not travel to every nation on the face of the earth, so we decided about five years ago that technology was the answer to solving this problem,” Konikowski said about delivering the latest medical care to medically underserved nations. “Telemedicine places these patients directly in front of our doctors here. Every day there are new drugs, new procedures, and new techniques. We make this available through satellite communication.”
