Electronic Commerce Affinity Program offers transportation companies discounted rates for EDI Value Added Network Services.

Mashpee, MA (PRWEB) November 27, 2007 - Digital Movers, (www.dmovers.com) a premier provider of outsourced electronic commerce services, announced today that they have developed an alliance partnership with the Alberta Motor Transport Association (www.amta.ca) to take advantage of the company's Electronic Commerce Affinity Program for freight carriers and logistics companies. The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is a province-wide, not-for-profit Association representing all sectors of the highway transportation industry with over 12,000 member companies.

Digital Movers is one of the largest resellers of public, tier one Value Added Network (VAN) Services. The company commits to large volumes of VAN services to obtain the lowest possible rates and then passes along these savings to their customers and alliance partners. The Electronic Commerce Affinity Program provides transportation companies with an opportunity to obtain EDI VAN services at discounted rates.

Since the arrival of the Internet, people have been predicting the end of the dependency upon Value Added Networks to accommodate EDI. However, years later many companies still rely upon VANs when building intra-company communication networks and supply chain solutions

We are extremely pleased to align ourselves with the AMTA and to help provide their member companies with world-class, tier-one VAN services at the lowest possible cost. The AMTA is clearly at the forefront in helping their member companies rise to this challenge.
Increasingly, transportation companies are being requested by their customers to provide timely, electronic information on shipments, etc.
The Digital Movers' Electronic Commerce Affinity Program provided us an opportunity to offer our members assistance in establishing this technology while reducing total supply chain costs.
A Value Added Network or VAN is a hosted store and forward mailbox service that facilitates the secure and auditable sharing of information (such as purchase orders, invoices, shipment status, etc.) electronically between companies to support Electronic Data Interchange.

"Since the arrival of the Internet, people have been predicting the end of the dependency upon Value Added Networks to accommodate EDI. However, years later many companies still rely upon VANs when building intra-company communication networks and supply chain solutions," said Ken Konikowski, president, Digital Movers. "We are extremely pleased to align ourselves with the AMTA and to help provide their member companies with world-class, tier-one VAN services at the lowest possible cost. The AMTA is clearly at the forefront in helping their member companies rise to this challenge."
